About the Novel

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is composed of letters and narratives from different perspectives, mainly from Victor Frankenstein and his creature. The novel begins with a series of letters from Robert Walton, an explorer who is sailing to the North Pole, to his sister Margaret Saville. About the Author

Mary Shelley was born in 1797 in London, England, to two prominent intellectuals: Mary Wollstonecraft, a feminist writer and philosopher, and William Godwin, a political philosopher and novelist.
